Sec3 - Secure Cloud Connecting System

Secure IoT devices are the basis for the digitization of Industry 4.0. Even if the connection of IoT devices via (international) cloud provider simplifies the handling for manufacturers (e.g. in servicing), the dangers for cloud-connected IoT devices and all users must be taken into account. A single successfully attacked IoT device can mutate into an attack vector for all devices connected to this cloud. Having your own in-house cloud solution counteracts the problems in several ways. The "Security by Isolation" (SBI) model from the Austrian flagship research project IoT4CPS represents such a solution. The Sec³ Secure Cloud Connecting System is based on this model and avoids uncontrolled access to data. The system offers maximum security for machines and IoT devices, quick initial installation, configurations only via the company's own Sec³ cloud, coordination of the remote maintenance of your components via the company's own Sec³ hubs with video documentation and modern encryption of the connections with little expenditure of time. The Sec³ Box also offers all functions of an conventional IoT device: Third-party maintenance, predictive maintenance, M2M communication, the basis for cloud service and local data and machine data analysis as well as fail-safe security through redundancy. Sec³ consists of a hardware box that combines the firewall and gateway in one device, a cloud-based core system to manage the hardware boxes and the company's own cloud in its own security zone, and several hubs to establish encrypted communication between the components. The software is platform-independent, is based 100% on OpenSource components and can be customized to the respective topography of the company.
