Fundamental changes in all areas of our lives and work.
Companies face the challenge of optimising their processes and making them more efficient in order to advance their competitiveness. The digital transformation has created a highly interconnected world with complex IT landscapes. In addition, disruptive technologies, such as artificial intelligence, are pushing into real world application. As a result, companies are facing existential pressure to change.
On the one hand, it is important to develop into a data-driven organisation; on the other hand, it is important to build and maintain eco-systems with open cooperation and close networking with partners. How can a balance be achieved here?
Do we manage to gain and maintain the trust of our employees, customers, partners and stakeholders in a complex, uncertain environment when interactions are increasingly taking place in a digital world?
In addition, there are aspects such as transparency, fairness, data protection and data security or ethical concerns. How can this balancing act succeed, how can the complexity, the simultaneity of the tasks be managed? Are the known methods sufficient or do we need new concepts to cope with these Herculean tasks?
Influential international institutions such as the World Economic Forum, the German Institute for Economic Research or ISACA are already urgently propagating the introduction and use of new security and trust concepts.
In this discussion we will look at these issues from different perspectives:
1. The power of AI and its limitations: How can companies use AI to drive innovation while keeping organisational, legal, human and social aspects in mind?
2. The importance of transparency and fairness: how can companies create transparent processes and communications that allow people, employees and customers to understand how AI works while protecting their privacy and security?
3. Building trust in the digital era: Do we need a holistic approach to security, transparency, fairness, privacy and responsible ethical behaviour to build people's trust in AI systems and to realise the full potential of this technology?
4. Is "digital trust" more than just a trend? What impact does trust (or lack thereof) have on the acceptance and success of AI in society?
