Action description

Attackers are rarely successful because of a major vulnerability. All too often, the cyber attack begins with a simple email. Phishing is still the most common type of attack that companies experience (source: Kriminologisches Forschungsinstitut Niedersachen e. V.). The path bypasses all possible technical protective measures and is clearly aimed at the person behind the computer.

Security awareness training is therefore a central component of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. From the managing director to the trainee, all employees learn in e-learning format what is important when it comes to digital security - before the attack happens. Crucial here: security awareness training has a direct influence on the behavior of the learners. Therefore, the conception and creation of the training courses follows clear guidelines and success factors, so that they also lead to a prompt, sustainable, cybersecurity-centric change in behavior.

In the first part of our workshop, you will learn how promising training courses are structured and what role they play in creating a company-wide safety culture.

If, despite all the measures taken, an attacker has successfully penetrated the network, many companies find themselves in uncharted waters - and right in the middle of the incident response process. Unfortunately, victims of cyber attacks often only notice the problem after all important data has been encrypted. In most cases, the situation that follows is characterized by operational chaos and general helplessness.

But that doesn't have to be the case: In the second part of this workshop, we will show you what is important to be well prepared in the event of a successful attack. Get to know the typical course of an attack, its effects and the usual immediate measures. Many examples of smaller and larger incidents help you to identify the pitfalls in your own workflow.

From October 2024 at the latest, appropriate employee training and measures to deal with security incidents will become mandatory for many companies and organizations. By then, the EU directive NIS-2 must have been implemented in applicable national law. Find out now.
