SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox

Secure communication at government level (VS-NfD). For years Secusmart has been a reliable partner for secure mobile communication for the federal administration. In his presentation, Dr. Christoph Erdmann will show how the technology is changing in the SecuSUITE for Samsung Knox solution. Since the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung has dispensed with a MicroSD card slot in the devices, which is a prerequisite for the use of the Secusmart Smart Card. As an alternative to using a MicroSD-based security anchor, Samsung integrates a security chip (embedded Secure Element) evaluated to high standards (EAL 6). Secusmart implements an applet for the eSE, which replaces the Secusmart smart card. The use of the embedded Secure Element has the advantage that there is no need to send a smart card by post. The device can be commissioned independently by the user. It is also possible to update the applet. Compared to the SSC, the applet has a higher performance, so the start of the Secure Apps feels smoother. The release with eSE support has already been submitted to the BSI and the evaluation has started. The first devices to be supported are S22, Tab S8+ or XCover 6 Pro.
