Cloud und Mobilität - SASE

With the SASE concept, the analysts are reacting to the trend of a meanwhile almost unlimited mobility of the employees of a company. It combines security mechanisms for cloud access, such as Firewall as a Service (FWaaS) or a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), with the security procedures used in the on-premise data center into a comprehensive approach and offers centralized control. SASE functions as a cloud service independent of location and at the same time decoupled from individual products and technologies. It protects the data traffic between the user and the applications he uses, regardless of the data center where the application is hosted and where the user is located. The "E" in SASE, i.e. the term "Edge", also indicates that the location of the service is hardly important; what is most important is the access path. The SASE concept provides for decentralization of network security. The focus is on the management of identities and authorizations, on consistent policies across on-premise systems and cloud environments, and last but not least on connectivity and dynamics. The service model aims to free IT security from its role as a brake on innovation in the company and to increase its flexibility. In future, companies will be able to book IT security as a cloud service and use it in their own data center.
