Action description

Unbelievable - the damage caused by cyber risks has once again reached a sad new all-time high this year. And this must be understood literally: The threat is almost impossible for our human minds to grasp, precisely because it lies in cyberspace and therefore beyond our sensory perception. It is therefore almost superfluous to ask which red lines still need to be crossed before decision-makers react in a way that is appropriate to the threat. In this game of cat and mouse, where there is never an equal playing field, it always seems to be the attackers who are one step ahead of the cyber security industry.

But this seemingly uneven balance of power is not a law of nature. If you want to make the decisive leap ahead of the wave, you have to stop believing that best practices, the state of the art or outstanding awareness have already exhausted all possibilities. There is an often forgotten area of culture that has been working for thousands of years on how to overcome opponents who are stronger, faster, better equipped or smarter: Martial arts deal with precisely this - how to take advantage of situations in which there is no equality of arms in order to get out of them without suffering serious damage.

Our Western view often "only" sees the mastery of technique, physical fitness and the drill required to master a martial art. In this presentation, however, we want to focus on the mindset, the inner attitude that is inextricably interwoven with the physical aspects in almost every martial art. It quickly becomes apparent that there are some highly efficient principles that we have hardly ever adopted in our everyday digital lives. These are often surprisingly easy to transfer to cyber scenarios. They are the key to a Zen mindset in cyber defense: an attitude of alertness, awareness and resilience. An attitude that means we no longer have to hope that the next attack won't hit us. Instead, we can calmly and confidently accept critical situations and take advantage of them.

With this contribution, we would like to encourage companies, organizations and cyber security players to initiate this inner transformation and unleash the great fun and dormant potential that lies within. Our appeal and our range of services: reframe your readiness!
