Workforce shortages continue to worsen as political tensions and economic slowdown impact labour markets around the world. To navigate the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape and develop a resilient cyber workforce capable of withstanding future threats, businesses must switch up their strategies. To limit staff shortages and foster retention, organizations must empower the cyber workforce of today and prevent burnout. Businesses must also evolve their hiring practices to reach a wider pool of potential talent, which involves encouraging non-IT or non-security personnel to join the field.

During this panel session, Ed Parsons, UK and Europe Director at ISC2, the world's leading member association for cybersecurity professionals, will be joined by Rainer Rehm, ISO at Zooplus AG, Sandra Erceg, ISO at Pixida, and Heinrich Lottmann, CISO at Targobank, to discuss the current cybersecurity challenges facing the profession as well as strategies for developing a diverse workforce.

They will also overview current collaborative entry-level initiatives with German universities to attract new talent into the profession, as well as outline ways to encourage career changers and the re-skilling of non-technical individuals into cyber roles. With research-based insights and practical strategies, the panellists will guide security teams through this complex cybersecurity landscape and workforce shortage to secure the future.
