To become more efficient, agile and competitive, we are adopting new technologies faster and faster. In the last few years alone, we have migrated from virtualization in the data center to the public cloud and are now seeing the containerization of our hybrid applications. Add to that, trends such as shared office and, most recently, home office.
The use of software as a service or cloud-based applications in conjunction with automation of service delivery leads to lower costs. However, this creates new silos in companies and thus opportunities for cyber criminals to attack.
An enterprise's cybersecurity approach must incorporate these new silos. Visibility and workflow must be thought through the entire infrastructure, rather than just to the perimeter of each silo. Otherwise, there is a risk of serious and consequential security breaches.
